Meat Memo for Omnivores

Welcome to our new Meat Memo for Omnivores! Meat can be a healthy component of an omnivore's diet. If meat is on the menu for you and your family, we can help you put dinner on the table and put your mind at ease about the source of your meal. We will be providing you with the latest information on our beef about once a month. You do not need to be a CSA member to buy Geauga Family Farms meats. Many of our meats are available year round.

 

Our farmers are raising:

Grass-fed beef, sold by the cut; as box specials; or by the whole, half or quarter

Certified-organic, grass-fed beef

Pastured Gloucestershire Old Spot pork, a heritage breed

Certified-organic chicken

Turkeys for the holidays

Our beef is cut and wrapped and available for purchase at Geauga Farms Country Meats, an old-fashioned Amish meat Market, open six days a week and located a pleasant drive in the country away. Please call ahead to assure availability; ask for Dave.

Chicken from Pellegrino Pastures is available at several retail locations, including Middlefield Original Cheese Cooperative on Route 87 in Middlefield, and Eddy Fruit Farm in Chesterland. Sylvio may have other options for you so please call him about availability. Chicken is sold as whole roasters and as a variety of partsChicken sausage is also available, including Cajun and Sylvio's Italian family recipe.
