"Most of all the other beautiful things in life

come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world."

Kate Douglas Wiggin

We're thinking a lot about mothers this week. They play such an important role in helping us to understand and value good eating habits. "Eat your vegetables!" is clearly our favorite motherly quote around the farms.

A CSA membership with Geauga Family Farms makes a great Mother's Day gift. Show your mom how much you care about her health and nutrition by providing her with 20 weeks of delicious organic produce. Is she already a member? Consider a cookbook that provides recipes for local foods to help her enjoy the harvest even more.

Joining a CSA program like Geauga Family Farms is also an excellent way to care for Mother Earth. Our farmers make sustainable farming techniques their top priority through organic farming, the use of non-GMO seeds, soil restoration and the support of our critically important pollinators. Likewise, your purchase of locally-produced food means that fewer resources are used to get food from the farms to your plate. Your participation in this process demonstrates that this type of stewardship is important to you and we thank you.

Happy Mother's Day from all of us at Geauga Family Farms!

Now is the time to...  Celebrate Mom!!

Moms dry the tears, Moms make the scary things go away. Moms take care of us when we're sick and they help us with our homework. Local food, farming, environment in the news

We have so many things we'd like to share with you regarding the local food movement and things like the farm bill, the latest news on GMO foods, and much, much more, but we don't want to make our newsletter any longer. Until we get our blog up and running on our website, we are going to include links to articles that you may find interesting. Here are a couple.
